As part of PES Day 2025, in collaboration with IEEE WIE affinity group we hosted a PES for Kids a fun and interactive educational experience designed to introduce children to the world of energy and sustainability. Through colorful visuals and storytelling, the kids explored what energy is, where it comes from, and why it matters. They learned about clean energy sources like the sun, wind, and water, and discovered how smart grids our modern energy superheroes help deliver electricity efficiently while protecting the planet. The session also highlighted the importance of trees in creating cleaner air and healthier environments.

In celebration of PES Day, the IEEE PES ENIS Student Branch Chapter, in collaboration with IEEE PES FSS Student Branch Chapter, organized a special introductory session featuring Ranim Dammak and Nour Chargui. The event aimed to present the vision and mission of PES Day 2025, highlight this year’s theme focusing on sustainable energy solutions, and motivate students to actively participate in upcoming activities. Our speakers shared their experiences within IEEE PES, discussed the importance of green power initiatives, and offered advice to new members on how to engage with the global PES community. The session also introduced the different planned events and competitions for PES Day at ENIS and FSS, including workshops, webinars, and technical challenges.

RegenX was a technical and educational event organized by the IEEE PES ENIS Student Branch Chapter under the theme: Energy Beyond Boundaries: Power for an Unseen Future. The event engaged students and young professionals in discussions and activities focused on green energy and sustainable technologies. RegenX featured key sessions, including one on the role of smart grids in accelerating the shift to renewable energy, and another on the efficiency of photovoltaic solar energy conversion, highlighting recent technological advances. It also included a hands-on competition where participants proposed innovative clean energy solutions. The event successfully fostered collaboration, innovation, and technical growth, empowering participants to contribute to a smarter and more sustainable energy future

As part of the RegenX event, IEEE PES ENIS SBC hosted an insightful session featuring Zouhour Rhayem, who shared valuable expertise on the crucial role of smart grids in accelerating the transition to renewable energy. This session aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of how smart grids can enhance the efficiency, flexibility, and reliability of energy systems, particularly as they shift from traditional fossil fuel-based sources to more sustainable renewable energy solutions. Zouhour Rhayem provided an in-depth analysis of smart grid technologies, including their ability to integrate renewable energy sources like wind and solar, optimize energy distribution, and facilitate demand-side management. The session also explored how these innovations can empower consumers, reduce energy waste, and contribute to achieving global sustainability goals. The discussion was interactive, with opportunities for attendees to engage in a Q&A segment, allowing them to explore real-world applications of smart grids and their transformative impact on the energy landscape. The session not only enhanced awareness of smart grid solutions but also sparked new ideas for future collaborations and initiatives aimed at fostering clean energy adoption.

We successfully organized a session featuring Mr. Hedi Elhedi, who provided valuable insights into ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management systems (EMS). The session covered key principles, industry benefits, and the role of engineers in promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of how ISO 14001 helps reduce environmental impact and enhances corporate sustainability practices.

Through our proposed solution for the TSYP 12 challenge, in collaboration with IEEE RAS SBC and SIGHT SBG, we visited the youth preservation center, which looks after orphans. We started with introducing the children to the concept of climate change, explaining the causes. Then we asked them to come up with suggestions that would help reduce the impacts of climate change. We concluded with presenting our solution and spreading awareness about the goal of the project, which was meant to protect the environment in an active way in regard to fighting climate change with sustainable practices and innovative solutions.

We organized a session on IoT in Smart Farming in collaboration with IEEE SIGHT ENIS SBG, showcasing how the latest technologies (IoT and AI) are revolutionizing agriculture. Led by Ms. Amina Kessentini, an Electrical Engineer and embedded systems researcher, the session introduced participants to the applications of IoT and AI in energy and smart farming. Ms. Kessentini explained key IoT components, such as sensors and ESP32 boards, followed by a hands-on workshop where participants built prototypes to monitor environmental conditions like soil moisture, temperature, and light. This experience provided practical skills in coding, circuit design and data collection, giving attendees the opportunity to work on more projects.

To inform our members about our future activities, we set up a booth to introduce our upcoming IoT session. The booth showcased the added value and advantages of IoT in smart farming, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize agriculture through innovative technologies. This initiative aimed to engage members, spark interest, and encourage them to work on hands-on projects to enhance their technical skills.

In order to engage new members in participating in the PES TSYP 12 challenge and introduce them to one of the latest issues, we organized a session on Climate Change, led by Mr. Amine Gasmi, Vice President of IEEE PES Tunisia Section. The session focused on introducing climate change and presenting innovative solutions, particularly the integration of renewable energy. Topics covered included the scientific basis of climate change, carbon emissions, and how modern energy systems can reduce their environmental impact. Participants gained valuable insights into sustainable engineering practices, followed by a Q&A session discussing practical solutions and the future role of renewable energy in mitigating global warming and reducing climate change.

From September 17 to 22, 2024, TEC Week 1.0 united over 120 innovators, students, and professionals to address challenges in aerospace, energy, and electronics. Organized by the IEEE SSCS, PES, AESS, and CASS Student Branch Chapters of ENIS, this collaborative event combined technical workshops, online sessions, and a competitive hackathon.The week began with three online sessions, featuring expert talks on space exploration, energy in space, and satellite communications. These sessions set the stage for the main event, held on September 21-22 in Monastir, Tunisia. Participants engaged in hands-on workshops and a hackathon focused on space debris management, developing sustainable solutions for this growing challenge.The event featured distinguished speakers, including Ms. Rania Toukebri from Airbus Defence and Space, who discussed space innovation and debris management, and Mr. Matthew Johnston, who delivered a CASS Distinguished Lecture on self-powered circuits. Mr. Mohamed Ali Zormati from Orange ODC shared collaboration opportunities, while Mr. Sedki Amor from IMEC explored advancements in space electronics. Their expertise provided participants with valuable insights to refine their projects.TEC Week 1.0 was a remarkable success, inspiring collaboration and innovation in space technology.

In collaboration with IEEE SSCS, AESS, CAS and RAS, the IEEE PES Chapter organized a Tech Talk to introduce new students to its initiatives in power systems and sustainable energy.Our Chapter highlighted its technical achievements, current activities, and future plans, showcasing its impact within IEEE. The event also featured presentations from other chapters, covering fields like aerospace, robotics, and control systems.This successful session inspired students to explore engineering challenges and get involved in IEEE’s innovative technical projects.

On Monday, 22 July 2024,we hosted with the IEEE SSCS, CASS ENIS Chapters, in collaboration with the ENIS Electrical Club,the online event Circuit of Success: ENIS Electrical Engineers' Career Stories on Discord. The event brought together aspiring engineers and professors to explore career opportunities in electrical engineering.Recent ENIS graduates, new professionals at companies like Actia and Siemens, shared their experiences in PCB design, software development, and renewable energy, offering valuable insights and advice for success in the field.

We are thrilled to announce our participation in PES TGM 5.0, held June 28-30, where we proudly received the Best Chapter PES award for our outstanding annual report.During the event, we presented a detailed proposal on energy transition, emphasizing the potential of green hydrogen. We also suggested the theme of electric vehicles for TGM 6.0's technical challenge and contributed ideas for speakers, sponsors, and budget planning.Our efforts earned us 4th place in the non-technical challenge, further showcasing our dedication and teamwork. This recognition motivates us to continue striving for excellence in future events!

At TechCamp 1.0 at ENIS, our booth showcased the IoT training planned for March 2-3. We explained the training's objectives, content, and the insights participants can expect. Through dynamic interactions, we detailed the comprehensive two-day agenda and registered interested individuals.

In the initial session, Imen Ayari, our esteemed instructor, introduced IoT with a detailed overview of its history and evolution, emphasizing its significance and applications. The participants, working in groups, explored various sensors and detectors. This approach encouraged teamwork and deepened understanding of sensor types, functionalities, and wiring techniques.

In the second session of the IoT workshop, participants delved into a 'smart agriculture' project, guided by Imen Ayari. They formed groups to develop a prototype for an intelligent irrigation system using IoT to monitor soil moisture and dryness. An application was also designed to provide real-time insights and enable remote irrigation control. Under Imen's expert guidance, participants gained both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, enhancing their skills in innovative agricultural technology.

On April 22nd, on Earth Day, we celebrated 'PES for Kids' as part of Education Week and PES Day. We started with a fun presentation on pollution and solutions, followed by a fingerprint activity symbolizing unity. Groups then colored a cardboard Earth and brainstormed eco-friendly ideas, including electric cars. The children learned about protecting the planet and innovative solutions.

In collaboration with IEEE SIGHT ENIS SBC, we hosted a workshop led by Ms. Hela Aidi from the National Center for Continuing Training and Professional Promotion. Titled 'From Organization to Strategy,' it focused on enhancing internal club management by developing essential skills in communication, strategic planning, and collaborative leadership. The workshop aimed to empower participants with practical tools to optimize club operations and achieve organizational success.

During Education Week and PES Day, we held a training session on smart grids, led by Ms. Ghada Boukettaya. Participants learned the distinctions between traditional and smart grid systems, highlighting the benefits of smart grids. Ms. Achouak Guirat discussed the future of electric vehicles, using 'Build Your Dream' as an example to explain differences between hybrid and electric motors, and how renewable energy can enhance this sector. These sessions provided valuable insights into smart grids and electric vehicles, aligning with the PES Day 2024 theme.

In collaboration with IEEE PES ENIG SBC and IEEE PES FSS SBC, we held an online workshop, 'AI in the Energy Field,' led by Mr. Ahmed Rebai. He discussed AI's impact on various domains, with a focus on its applications in energy, such as managing oil rigs via sensor analysis. The workshop introduced new concepts and enhanced collaboration with other SBCs.

IEEE SSCS ENIS SBC collaborated with IEEE PES ENIS SBC. Minyar Bougdar and Yosri Abbes from IEEE PES introduced their chapter, encouraging student participation in the upcoming PES TGM event. A workshop, 'From Arduino to Microcontroller,' led by Abderrahim El Meksi, enhanced participants' practical knowledge in using Arduino as an alternative microcontroller, delving into embedded systems, bootloaders, and programmers. The session fostered a friendly atmosphere, enabling networking during the coffee break, connecting new students and IEEE members. The event achieved its goals by introducing IEEE, promoting SSCS membership, sharing future event details, and imparting technical knowledge through the workshop.

The IEEE PES ENIS SBC participated in the organized IEEE talks by the IEEE ENIS SB with a dual objective: to seamlessly integrate fresh faces into our community and to provide them with a comprehensive overview of our chapter's endeavors. We started with warmly introducing our Ex-Com, illuminating the driving forces behind our chapter's initiatives. Then we delved into detailed discussions encompassing the varied axes we work on, highlighting our past achievements, unveiling our future plans, and promoting our participation in the next edition of the IEEE PES TGM.

Celebrating IEEE PESDAY, in collaboration with IEEE SB Tunisia chapters. Melek Ben Ayed, a PhD student in control systems and renewable energy grid integration, joined us as a keynote speaker for our upcoming event on artificial photosynthesis. As a keynote speaker at our event on April 30th at 7pm, Melek shared his insights on the latest advancements in artificial photosynthesis and its potential applications in the field of renewable energy.

In a recent gathering, our speaker delivered a specialized road map for achieving excellence within an IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) chapter. The focus was on the critical aspects of skillfully organizing and reporting events, maintaining a compelling online presence through a website or social media, and adeptly completing the IEEE PES High Performing Student Branch Chapter Program (HPSBCP) application. This session was a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical applications to enrich experience for all participants.

During this session, Mrs. BOUKETTAYA delivered a thorough overview of photovoltaic, encompassing components, technologies, and environmental advantages. We delved into efficiency factors and tackled challenges, such as intermittency and recycling. Following a break, Mrs. SALLEM presented wind energy, emphasizing components, wind resource assessment, and environmental benefits. Economic considerations and recent technological advancements were also explored.

Celebrating PES Day and in collaboration with Tunisia SB Chapters, we were honored to have Tesnim Bel Ayadi, a proficient energy and electrical engineer, join us as a keynote speaker for our upcoming cogeneration event. Leveraging her vast expertise, Tesnim delivered a captivating and insightful presentation, catering to both seasoned professionals and newcomers in the field.
